How quickly can I get a private GP appointment in Northern Ireland?
We keep same-day and next-day appointments for our Lurgan clinic, including Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings. If a slot has gone, the team will offer the next available time or an online GP appointment.
Do I still need to be registered with an NHS GP?
Yes. Friends Medical GP works alongside the NHS. Keep your NHS GP for routine NHS care, screening and emergency pathways. We share letters and results with your NHS team when you ask us to.
How much does a private GP appointment cost?
A 15-minute appointment is £70, 30 minutes is £100, and 45 minutes is £150. Online GP appointments start from £50. Tests, reports and home visits are priced separately and confirmed before you book.
Can you issue private prescriptions, sick notes and referrals?
Yes. Our GPs can issue private prescriptions, fit notes and referral letters. Prescriptions are private, so you pay the pharmacy fee. We will always tell you the cost before we write anything.
Where is the clinic, and can I come from Belfast or Banbridge?
The GP clinic is at Southside Healthcare, 41 High Street, Lurgan, BT66 8AH. Patients travel from Craigavon, Portadown, Banbridge, Lisburn, Armagh and Belfast. Parking is available nearby in the town centre.
