Private nurse visit at home

This is not an emergency service. If someone has chest pain, stroke signs, severe breathing difficulty, heavy bleeding or collapse, call 999 or go to A&E. We work alongside the NHS, not instead of it.

About this service

A private nurse visit is planned nursing care in the home: observations, injections, dressings, catheter checks, and the practical jobs that keep someone safe after illness. The nurse works to a plan and can escalate to our GP or to NHS services if the picture changes.

Is this right for me?

  • Planned nursing that the NHS cannot time as you need
  • Families wanting a named nurse for a few weeks after discharge
  • Support between GP visits

Working alongside your NHS team

We do not replace your NHS GP, district nurse, consultant or A&E. We add private capacity at home. If you already have an NHS package, tell us so we do not duplicate or confuse the plan.

What we help with

  • Observations and monitoring
  • Injections
  • Basic and complex dressings
  • Support with medicines administration where agreed

What happens during the visit

  • The nurse checks identity, consent and the care plan
  • Care is delivered
  • Notes are recorded and you are told what to watch for

What is included

  • Registered nurse visit
  • Clinical record
  • Escalation to GP or urgent care if needed

Who delivers your care

A registered nurse. RQIA registration for domiciliary nursing is confirmed on our regulation page.

Pricing

From-price for a standard nurse visit. Complex or longer visits are quoted first.

After your visit

Follow-up visits can be booked as a short package rather than one-offs, which is usually kinder and cheaper for families.

Where we cover

Home visits across Lurgan, Craigavon, Portadown and Banbridge as core cover, with Lisburn, Armagh, Dungannon and Belfast arranged with a travel note. Call with a postcode and we will confirm. A family member can book if the patient consents to be seen.

FAQs

Is a private nurse a replacement for district nurses?

No. We work alongside NHS district nursing. If you already have a district nurse, tell us so we do not duplicate or confuse the plan.
